From the Executive Board of The American Brabant Association to buyers of Brabant horses,a word of caution: don’t be misled.

Picture
Not all may be as it seems with horses that have a Brabant appearance.

It is strongly recommended that the buyer insists the seller of a proclaimed Brabant horse register it with the ABA before purchase, especially if the horses for sale are potential breeding stock. Registration with the ABA will discover and memorialize the verifiable percentage of European Brabant blood of that horse on the registration papers which is acknowledged & recognized by the ABA. The ABA has carefully crafted a system of registry to allow horses with different percentages of European Brabant background to be registered. This includes a system of calculating verifiable percentages of European Brabant blood in a particular horse.

When you join the Association, you’ll also receive updates and newsletters to keep you directly informed of happenings in the ABA.Thank you!
